Why Take Music Lessons

  • Music is a critical tool that keeps students engaged in school, helps develop well-rounded individuals and encourages skills that are vital for success in the 21 st century.
    – VH1 Save the Music
  • “We need people who think with the creative side of their brains—people who have played in a band, …it enhances symbiotic thinking capabilities, not always thinking in the same paradigm, learning how to kick-start a new idea, or how to get a job done better, less expensively.”
    – Annette Byrd, GlaxoSmithKline
  • “It is in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough—it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.”
    – Steve Jobs, in Introducing the iPad 2 in 2011
  • A ten-year study indicates that students who study music achieve higher test scores, regardless of socioeconomic background.
    – Dr. James Catterall, UCLA
  • Students with band and orchestra experience attend college at a rate twice the national average.
    – Bands Across the USA

But most importantly – IT’S FUN !!!
